Not too long ago I read an article saying that the theory of evolution had been disproven. As a Pastor, I am a firm believer in Creationism, but I have come in contact with a lot of people who believe in evolution (mostly non-Christians and also some supposedly Christians). We need to have answers to their questions.
So, what are some questions and recent scientific discoveries and facts I can state to disprove these beliefs? Other than quotes from the Bible, which they refuse to listen to, there are many, many scientific facts that disprove the theory of evolution.
One of the areas that we should really study is The Age of the Earth. You see real scientists know for a fact that the earth is slowing down. Its rate of decrease in speed (caused by mountain friction to the atmosphere, etc.) is measurable. However, it's not slowing down enough to matter if the earth is around 6,000 years old, as the Bible contends. But if the earth is millions of years old, as stated by evolutionists, then the earth would have had to be spinning so fast (to not have stopped by now) that everything, including humans, would have spun off into space!
What about DNA that shows it's an extremely intricate self-correcting design? If you have a "design," then you must have a "designer!" Oh then there is a designer…. but evolutionists don’t want to hear that. Because God is the Designer, the Creator, yes the One that they mock an ridicule.
It is important to be ready to give an answer to what you believe (1 Peter 3:15), but always keep in mind that the root problem with your evolutionist friends is not solved by finding scientific evidence outside of Biblical references. Their real problem is spiritual. Until they trust Jesus as their Lord and Savior, it won't matter what they believe and they can't understand spiritual truths until they are revealed to them by the Holy Spirit.
For to us who are Christians the Bible tells us, “But God has revealed to us through the Holy Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God” —1 Corinthians 2:10-12.
Why is evolution taught in schools when it has not been proven to be 100% true?
This question reminds me of a chemistry teacher I had in high school. Before performing an experiment in front of the class, he would have the students vote on the outcome. When the experiment didn't go the way most students expected, he would remind us that science wasn't based on opinion. Our opinions didn't matter at all.

In no way does the idea of evolution meet the long-accepted definition of a scientific theory. There are no such evolutionary transitions that have ever been observed in the fossil record of the past; and the universal law of scientific order seems to make it impossible on any significant scale.
Did you know that Evolutionists claim that evolution is a scientific fact, but they almost always loose scientific debates with creationist scientists. Accordingly, most evolutionists now decline opportunities for scientific debates, preferring instead to make unilateral attacks on creationists. If I come up with fancy names or scream at you I should be able to convince you.
I guess scientists should refuse formal debates because they do more harm than good, but scientists still need to counter the creationist message. The question is, just why do evolutionists need to counter the creationist message? Why are they so committed to anti-creationism? The fact is that evolutionists believe in evolution because they want to. It is their desire at all costs to explain the origin of everything without a Creator. Evolutionism is thus basically an atheistic religion. Some may prefer to call it humanism, and "new age" evolutionists place it in the context of some form of pantheism, but they all amount to the same thing. Whether atheism or humanism (or even pantheism), the purpose is to eliminate a personal God from any active role in the origin of the universe and all its components, including man.
The basis of the humanistic philosophy is naturalism -- the proposition that the natural world proceeds according to its own internal dynamics, its own order , without divine or supernatural control or guidance, and that we human beings are creations of that process. If you have ever read about the philosophers who put together this humanistic movement they debated as to which term more adequately described their position: humanism or naturalism. You will find that the two ideas are complementary and inseparable.
Since both naturalism and humanism exclude God from science or any other active function in the creation or maintenance of life and the universe in general, it is very obvious that their position is nothing but atheism. And atheism, no less than theism, which is a religion! Even-atheistic evolutionist Richard Dawkins admits that atheism cannot be proved to be true. He said: “Of course we can't prove that there isn't a God.” Therefore, they must believe it, and that makes it a religion. All religion is your belief system. The evolutionists themselves, to all intents and purposes, have shown that evolutionism is not science, but a religious faith in atheism.
Do you know what the Bible declares in Romans 1:25 that: “They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.”
A very important factor in the creation vs. evolution debate is that the majority of scientists who believe in evolution are also atheists or agnostics. There are some who hold a form of “theistic evolution”. Others take a deistic view of God, believing He exists but is not involved in the world, and everything proceeds along an uninterrupted, natural course. Many genuinely and honestly look at the data and arrive at the conclusion that evolution better fits the data. However, the dominant narrative in this discussion is that evolution is, somehow, incompatible with both the Bible and faith in God.
So the evolutionist believes that life evolved entirely without any intervention of a higher being. For atheism to be true, there has to be an alternate explanation—other than a Creator—for how the universe and life came into existence. Although belief in some form of evolution predates Charles Darwin, he was the first to develop a reasonable, natural source for the process of evolution: natural selection. Darwin once identified himself as a Christian, but, as a result of some tragedies that took place in his life, he later renounced the Christian faith and the existence of God.
The Bible tells us, “The fool says in his heart, 'There is no God’” (Psalm 14:1; 53:1). The Bible also proclaims that people are without excuse for not believing in a Creator God. “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse” (Romans 1:20). According to the Bible, anyone who denies the existence of God is a fool.
Foolishness does not imply a lack of intelligence. In fact many evolutionary scientists are brilliant intellectually. However, scripture teaches that foolishness indicates an inability to properly apply knowledge. Proverbs 1:7 tells us, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.”
Atheists who support evolution frequently mock creation and/or intelligent design as unscientific and not worthy of scientific examination. In order for something to be considered a “science,” they argue, it must be “naturalistic.” Creation, by definition, is beyond the rules of the natural world. Since God cannot be tested, as the argument goes, creation and/or intelligent design cannot be considered science.
Strictly speaking, evolution cannot be observed or tested any more or less than intelligent design, but that does not seem to be an issue with non-believing evolutionists. As a result, all data is filtered through their pre-conceived, pre-supposed, and pre-accepted worldview of naturalism, without alternate explanations being considered.
IF creation is true, then there is a Creator to whom we are to be accountable. BUT evolution, as often presented today, is an enabler for atheism. Evolution gives atheists a basis for explaining how life developed apart from a Creator God. As such, modern theories of evolution serve as a substitute “creation story” for the religion of atheism.
The Bible is clear: God is the Creator. Any interpretation of science that attempts to remove God from involvement with origins is incompatible with Scripture and should be considered to be false.
