PETRA - A refuge for Israel?

5/20/2025

In Revelation 12, we see a dramatic vision: a woman—symbolizing Israel—fleeing into the wilderness to escape Satan’s wrath during the Great Tribulation. Scripture tells us she will be protected for 1,260 days (3½ years), a period that begins when the Antichrist breaks his covenant and sets up the abomination in the temple (Matthew 24:15; Daniel 9:27).

But where will Israel flee? Many scholars and prophecy teachers believe the answer is Petra.  Yes, Petra, the place made famous to us in the “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” movie.

📍 Why Petra?
Though Petra is not mentioned by name in the book of Revelation, it is referred to in the Old Testament as Sela (Isaiah 16:1; 2 Kings 14:7)—both names meaning “rock".  Petra is carved into sandstone cliffs in southern Jordan, about 50 miles south of the Dead Sea. Its natural fortification, narrow entrance (the Siq), and desert location make it a strategic refuge.
🏛️ Historical and Archaeological Highlights
  • Petra flourished between 9 B.C. and 40 A.D. as a trade hub.
  • Its water system could deliver 12 million gallons per day—a marvel in the desert.
  • Destroyed by an earthquake in 693 A.D., it now lies in ruins but remains a major tourist site.
  • Only 15% of Petra has been excavated; the rest remains untouched.
  • Designated one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007.
📖 Biblical Clues Pointing to Petra
Several scriptures suggest that Petra may be the hiding place for Israel’s remnant:
  • Daniel 11:41 – Jordan escapes the Antichrist’s control.
  • Revelation 12:14 – Israel flees to a desert place prepared by God.
  • Isaiah 63:1 – The Lord comes from Bozrah (Petra’s region) in judgment.
  • Micah 2:12–13 – God gathers His people in Bozrah like sheep in a fold.

Even non-biblical factors support this theory:
  • Jordan currently has a peace treaty in place with Israel.
  • Petra’s geography makes it ideal for concealment and defense.

🧬 Israel and Petra: A Prophetic Connection

Petra lies in the ancient land of Edom, descendants of Esau. Israel and Edom were often in conflict (Numbers 20:18–21; 2 Samuel 8:13–14). Petra was once renamed Joktheel by King Amaziah after a victory (2 Kings 14:7). The Edomites later betrayed Israel during Babylon’s invasion (Psalm 137:7), leading to prophetic condemnation (Jeremiah 49:16–18).

Today, Petra stands uninhabited—just as Jeremiah foretold:  “‘As Sodom and Gomorrah were overthrown… so no one will live there; no people will dwell in it.’” (Jeremiah 49:18)

🌄 The Woman in Revelation 12

The woman “clothed with the sun” (Rev 12:1) represents Israel, as confirmed by Joseph’s dream (Genesis 37:9–11). She gives birth to a male child--Jesus, who ascends to heaven and will return to rule with a rod of iron (Psalm 2:7–9; Revelation 20:4–6).

Her flight into the wilderness is a future event, occurring halfway through the Tribulation. When the Antichrist desecrates the temple, Israel must flee—possibly to Petra—where God will supernaturally protect her for “a time, times, and half a time” (Rev 12:14).

🙌 God’s Protection Is Supernatural
While Petra may be the physical refuge, it is not the location alone that ensures safety. God’s hand will shield His people:
“He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.” (Psalm 121:4)

✝️ Final Thoughts
Though we won’t be here to witness this moment, Petra offers a fascinating glimpse into God’s prophetic plan. It reminds us that:
  • God keeps His promises.
  • God prepares places of refuge.
  • God will protect His people—even in the darkest days.
  • God is ALWAYS in control

The Beast System

5/13/2025

After our prior study on the Unholy Trinity it is clear that separate from these three defeated beings, there is a system that they will use to try to enforce their agenda.  The “Beast System” as described in Revelation 13 outlines three key components:
1. 🖼️ The Image
  • The False Prophet will animate an image of the beast—something that speaks and demands worship.
  • Refusal to worship results in execution by beheading (Rev 20:4).
  • Theories abound: a hologram, AI robot, clone, or transhuman hybrid.
  • This image becomes the centerpiece of the Beast’s religion, demanding allegiance and punishing dissent.
  • Those who worship it face God’s wrath: “tormented with burning sulfur… no rest day or night” (Rev 14:9–11).
  • The first bowl judgment targets these worshipers with festering sores (Rev 16:2).

2. 🛑 The Mark
  • The mark of the beast is a visible sign—likely a tattoo or stamp—declaring allegiance to the Antichrist.
  • It enables commerce and divides humanity into two camps: those loyal to Christ and those loyal to the Beast.
  • It may include:
    • Barcode or QR code
    • Embedded chip
    • Cloud-based digital ID
  • Key truths:
    • It will be voluntary, not deceptive.
    • It will be on the body, not in it.
    • It will be visible and linked to the number 666.
    • It will be promoted by the False Prophet.
    • It will be universally accepted by unbelievers, and universally rejected by believers.
  • Accepting the mark is a spiritual decision, not just economic—it is worship of the Antichrist.
  • Those who accept it will face eternal judgment (Rev 14:10).
  • This is a counterfeit of God’s seal on the 144,000 (Rev 7:3).

3. 🔢 The Number
  • Revelation 13:18 reveals the number of the Beast: 666.  This is probably one of the most well known numbers mentioned in the Bible, however, prior to the Tribulation period, we will not be able to fully understand it's reference.   At this point, we can only surmise what this number can be.
  • While its full meaning is unknown, believers during the Tribulation will understand it clearly.
  • The number may be calculated using Gematria—a system where letters have numeric values in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin.
  • This number will be integral to the mark and the system of control.

📅 So when will this system be implemented?
Although we may see many things in our society today (AI, Digital Passports, Cryptocurrency, etc.) which may all play a part in the future beast system, it is important to know that this is NOT YET, the beast system.   The Beast System will not begin implementation until  the midpoint of the Tribulation—42 months before Christ’s return.   In fact, Revelation 13:5 says the Beast will rule for forty-two months, under this system.  During this time:  Jerusalem will be trampled (Rev 11:2) and the two witnesses (God’s prophets) will have finished their 1,260-day ministry (Rev 11:3).

❗ So Why Will This Occur?
This is the final dividing line between those who serve JESUS and for those who will submit to the Beast.   Remember Joshua 24:15 tells us to “Choose this day whom you will serve.”.   The implementation will be the final division clearly showing every persons true allegiance.
  • Those who worship Jesus Christ will reject the mark and suffer persecution—but reign with Him.
  • Those who worship the Beast will enjoy temporary access to commerce—but face eternal separation from God.
  • This is the ultimate test of allegiance: Jesus Christ or satan.

🙌 Final Thoughts
These words are not put in scripture to scare us.  If you have accepted Jesus as your LORD and Savior, we need to remember that from a pre-tribulation perspective, it is clear that we will already be raptured and be with JESUS prior to this system being implemented, so we have NOTHING to fear.

If you have not yet accepted JESUS as your LORD and Savior, make a decision to accept HIM today!

For anyone reading this Blog during the Tribulation, DO NOT TAKE THE MARK.  Revelation 14:9-11 tells us that anyone who does take the mark will suffer the wrath of GOD.

Choose wisely today!

The unholy trinity

4/8/2025

To complete the study of the book of Revelation, we will take a quick look at the Unholy Trinity and the Beast system.   This is not a topic that is exciting to dig into, but it is necessary for us to understand so that we can “know our enemy” and tell others before it is too late!  This Unholy Trinity represents a clear counterfeit of the divine—exposed and defeated  (Revelation 12-13, Daniel 7, Isaiah 60:21, Luke 1:32-33)

✨ The True Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
Right from the very beginning, in Genesis chapter 1 in fact,  we see the divine unity of the Godhead:  “Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness…’” (Genesis 1:26)
The Holy Trinity includes God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Trinity is characterized by perfect love, truth, and goodness.  But as always, satan seeks to counterfeit what God creates.
⚠️ The Rise of the Unholy Trinity
In Revelation 12 and 13, we are introduced to a diabolical trio.  A counterfeit trinity comprised of:
  • Satan (the dragon)
  • The Antichrist (the beast from the sea)
  • The False Prophet (the beast from the earth)

This unholy trinity mimics the structure of the divine Trinity but embodies deception, hatred, and evil. Their identities will not be revealed until after the rapture, but their roles are clearly defined in scripture.

🐉 Satan: The Dragon (Revelation 12)
  • Described as a “great red dragon” with seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns
  • Cast out of heaven with one-third of the angels (Revelation 12:4, 7–9)
  • Seeks to destroy Israel, but God protects a remnant (Revelation 12:6, 13–17)
  • A master of mimicry, offering inferior copies of God’s truth
  • But he is a defeated foe—whose time is short!

🦁 The Antichrist: The Beast from the Sea (Revelation 13:1–10)
  • Empowered by Satan, rising from the Gentile nations (Daniel 7; Revelation 13:1)
  • Mortally wounded and miraculously healed—sparking global worship (Revelation 13:3–5)
  • Breaks covenant with Israel, commits the Abomination of Desolation (Matthew 24:15)
  • Known by many names:
    • The little horn (Daniel 7:8)
    • The willful king (Daniel 11:36–45)
    • The worthless shepherd (Zechariah 11:17)
    • The man of sin (2 Thessalonians 2:3)
  • Rules over ten nations, subdues three (Daniel 7:7–8; Revelation 17:12–13)
  • Likely from the Revived Roman Empire (Daniel 9:26; Revelation 17:9)

🐑 The False Prophet: The Beast from the Earth (Revelation 13:11–18)
  • Appears lamb-like but speaks like a dragon—deceptively persuasive
  • Performs signs and wonders, even calling down fire (Revelation 13:13–14)
  • Promotes worship of the Antichrist and sets up his image
  • Enforces the mark of the beast campaign (Revelation 13:16–17)
  • Executes those who refuse to worship the image (Revelation 13:15)
  • Represents false religion and spiritual deception

🧠 Satan’s Strategy: Counterfeit and Corrupt
Satan doesn’t create—he imitates and perverts. The unholy trinity is the enemies attempt to mirror God’s triune nature.  But unlike the eternal, loving unity of the Godhead, this trio is temporary, destructive, and doomed.

🏁 The Final Outcome
Though this unholy trinity will deceive many and persecute believers, their reign will be short-lived. Jesus will return in glory, defeat them, and establish His eternal Kingdom where:
  • Evil will be removed forever (Isaiah 60:21)
  • God will dwell with His people (Luke 1:32–33)
  • The saints will inherit the Kingdom (Daniel 7:21–22)

🙌 Final Thoughts
Don’t be deceived by the counterfeit. Know the truth. Stand firm in Christ. The enemy may roar, but his defeat is sealed.  He is a DEFEATED FOE.   CHRIST IS THE VICTOR!

The NEW HEAVEN and the NEW EARTH

3/11/2025

After the Millennial Reign of Christ, after the final judgment, after the defeat of sin and death — comes the ultimate promise: a NEW HEAVEN and a NEW EARTH.  This is literally Eden 2.0 -- Eden restored… but even more magnificent!   It’s not just a return to the original creation—it’s a re-creation and it’s where we will dwell with the Lord forever.
“Behold, I am making all things new.” (Revelation 21:5)

🌍 From Creation to the New Creation
The Bible begins with creation (Genesis 1–2) and ends with the new creation (Revelation 21–22). Everything in between—from Genesis 3 to Revelation 20—is the story of salvation through Jesus Christ!
  • God created the world and called it “very good” (Genesis 1:31).
  • Sin entered through Adam, marring creation (Romans 5:12).
  • All creation groans under the curse (Romans 8:22).
  • But after the Great White Throne Judgment, God unveils a new heaven and new earth—free from sin, sorrow, and death.

😭 God Will Wipe Every Tear
Revelation 21:4 promises that God will personally wipe away every tear.   What are those tears?
  • Grief over loved ones who aren’t there?
  • Regret over missed opportunities to serve the Lord?
  • Pain from earthly suffering?
Whatever the cause, God Himself will comfort us and those tears will be no more!

✨ Seven Things That Will Be “No More”
In the book of Revelation we are told that in the New Heaven and New Earth, there are seven things which will cease to exist:
  1. No more sea (Revelation 21:1)
  2. No more death (Revelation 21:4)
  3. No more mourning (Revelation 21:4)
  4. No more weeping (Revelation 21:4)
  5. No more pain (Revelation 21:4)
  6. No more curse (Revelation 22:3)
  7. No more night (Revelation 22:5)
This is not symbolic—it’s literal. A new geography, a new climate, a new reality. No more separation, no more danger, no more darkness.

🌿 The Tree of Life and the Healing of the Nations
Revelation 22:2 describes the tree of life, whose leaves are “for the healing of the nations.”
  • Not healing from sickness or war—those are gone.
  • This healing is perpetual blessing, unity, and enrichment.
  • All nations will have equal access. No division. No strife.
It’s Eden restored and made even more perfect.   A place of perfect communion, perfect government, perfect glory.

🏙️ The New Jerusalem
John saw “the Holy City… coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband” (Revelation 21:2).

This city is the eternal home of God’s redeemed people.  A few awe-inspiring facts found in scripture include:
  • Size: ~1,380 miles in each direction—cube or pyramid-shaped.
  • Foundations: 12, adorned with precious stones, named after the apostles.
  • Gates: 12, each a single pearl, named after the tribes of Israel.
  • Streets: Pure gold.
  • Light: No sun needed—God’s glory illuminates everything.
  • Residents: The Father, the Lamb, angels, and all who belong to Christ.
“They will see His face… and His name will be on their foreheads.” (Revelation 22:4)

🔥 What This Means for Us Today
This future isn’t just a distant hope—it’s a present motivation.    Studying this portion of scripture reminds us that this world is not our home.   It encourages us to live with an eternal perspective.  It stirs us to worship, obey, and to live boldly for the LORD.

“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, the wonderful things God has prepared for those who love Him.”
                                                                                                                                          - 1 Corinthians 2:9

🙌 Closing Encouragement
The new heaven and new earth are coming.   Jesus will make all things new.   If you have accepted JESUS as your LORD and Savior, you are a citizen of this soon coming NEW HEAVEN, NEW EARTH and NEW JERUSALEM.

Let this truth shape your life today.  Live with the hope we have in JESUS CHRIST.  Share the gospel so that others will also know this HOPE that we have.  Look forward with joy to the day when we will dwell with the Lord forever!!!!

Life in the Millennial Kingdom of CHRIST

2/18/2025

After our last post describing the Millennial Kingdom of Christ we though it would be good to answer some of the questions that were asked about what life will be like in the Millennial Kingdom.

👑 Life During the Millennial Reign of Christ
During the Millennium, Jesus will reign from Jerusalem as King over all the earth. Believers will rule and reign with Him (Revelation 2:26–27; 20:4), and David himself will be resurrected to serve as a prince (Daniel 7:27; Ezekiel 37:24–25). The world will experience peace, justice, and restoration unlike anything we’ve ever known.
  • Nations will no longer wage war (Micah 4:3)
  • Jesus will teach His ways, and we will walk in His paths (Micah 4:2)
  • The earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord (Isaiah 11:9)
  • Even animals will live in harmony with humans (Isaiah 11:6–8)

🌍 Who Will Occupy the Millennial Kingdom?
The Kingdom will be filled with all the righteous from history, both in glorified and earthly bodies:
     Glorified Bodies
  • The Church – resurrected or transformed at the rapture (1 Thessalonians 4:13–18)
  • Old Testament saints – resurrected at Christ’s return (Daniel 12:2)
  • Tribulation martyrs – raised to reign with Christ (Revelation 20:4–6)
     Earthly Bodies
  • Believing Gentiles and Jews who survive the tribulation
  • These will live long lives, marry, and have children (Isaiah 65:20–23)
The Kingdom will be multiethnic and multicultural, fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18–20) and Habakkuk 2:14: “The earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.”

🔄 What Will Be Restored?
  • Creation – Peace among animals and nature (Isaiah 11:6–9)
  • God’s People – Israel restored and exalted (Jeremiah 3:18; Micah 4:6–8)

🏛️ Government in the Millennium
The world will not be a democracy—it will be a theocracy led by Jesus Christ:
  • Jesus will be both King and Priest, ruling with perfect justice
  • No corruption, no fear—only righteousness and benevolence
  • His rule will ensure the greatest welfare of His people (Psalm 72:12–13)

🧑‍⚖️ Who Will Rule?
  • King David will reign as a prince under Christ (Psalm 89:33–37; Ezekiel 34:23–24)
  • The Apostles will judge the twelve tribes of Israel (Matthew 19:28; Luke 22:28–30)
  • Glorified Saints will reign over creation, restoring what was lost in Eden (Genesis 1:26–28; Revelation 20:6)
🏡 What will Living Conditions be like in the Kingdom
  • Peace and security (Isaiah 2:2–4; Micah 4:3–4)
  • Righteousness and justice (Isaiah 32:1; Psalm 72:12–13)
  • Universal worship of the Lord (Jeremiah 3:17; Zechariah 14:16)
💼 What Kind of things will we do in this Millennial Kingdom?
We will WORK!   But not like work as we know it in this day and age.   Our work in the Millennial Kingdom will be purposeful and fulfilling:
  • Governance – mayors, judges, administrators (Revelation 3:21)
  • Teaching – spreading God’s law and truth
  • Priestly service – shepherding and spiritual leadership
  • Agriculture, construction, and commerce (Amos 9:13–14)
  • Every task will bring joy and satisfaction!

💍 Will There Be Marriage and Children?
Yes—for those in natural bodies:
  • Marriage will continue among Tribulation survivors
  • Children will be born and must choose faith in Christ
  • Abortion will not exist, and life spans will increase

⚖️ Will There Be Death and Sin?
Yes,  sadly, some will still rebel (Isaiah 65:20; Revelation 20:7–8), but there will be limited death and sin:
  • Death will occur for those in natural bodies who rebel (Isaiah 65:20)
  • Sin will still exist due to the fallen nature of man
  • Satan will be bound, but the human heart will still need redemption
  • Even in a perfect world, faith in Christ will be required

🔔 Final Reflection
The Millennial Kingdom will be a time of restoration, righteousness, and divine fulfillment. Yet even then, the call to faith remains. Jesus will reign, but every heart must still choose Him.    Have you chosen to JESUS as your LORD and SAVIOR?  If not take a moment today to pray to HIM and surrender your life to HIM.

Seek the LORD while HE may be found, call upon HIM while HE is near (Is 55:6)

The Millennial Rule of Christ

2/11/2025

You may have heard the phrase “the Millennial Reign of Christ” and wonder what it means and where is comes from.   The Millennial Reign of Christ (from a Pre-millennial perspective) is a literal 1,000 years of “future history” when JESUS CHRIST will literally rule on the earth.   Scripture references for this topic include:  Revelation 20:1–10, Micah 4:1–5, Isaiah 65:17–25 (see also Isaiah 11:6–10; 2:2–4)

🌍 A Thousand Years of Peace, Purpose, and Promise
The Millennial Reign of Christ will occur after the tribulation as detailed in Revelation 20.   This will be a breathtaking chapter in God’s redemptive plan.  For 1,000 years, Jesus will rule the earth in righteousness, fulfilling every covenant, promise, and prophecy made to Israel, the nations, and creation itself.
This isn’t symbolic—it’s literal. A real King. A real Kingdom. A real thousand years.

👑 What Will Happen During the Millennium?
  • Jesus will reign as King over Israel and all nations (Isaiah 2:4; 42:1)
  • The world will experience true peace (Isaiah 11:6–9; 32:18)
  • Satan will be bound and unable to deceive (Revelation 20:1–3)
  • All nations will worship the Lord (Isaiah 2:2–3)
This reign is not just a pause before eternity—it’s the fulfillment of God’s unbreakable covenants.

📜 Why the Millennium Must Happen: God Keeps His Promises
1.  The Abrahamic Covenant (Deuteronomy 30:1–10)
God promised Abraham land, descendants, and blessing. While Abraham’s lineage has been fulfilled, Israel has never fully possessed the land boundaries promised in Genesis 15:18–20. The Millennium will see this promise completed—forever (Genesis 13:15; Ezekiel 16:60).
2.  The Davidic Covenant (2 Samuel 7)
God swore that David’s heir would reign forever. Jesus, the Son of David, will sit on the throne of Israel during the Millennium (Revelation 20:4), beginning His eternal kingship.
3.  The New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:31–34)
Though Jesus inaugurated this covenant through His death and resurrection, its full national fulfillment awaits. Israel will finally worship her Messiah as a nation (Ezekiel 36:28; Isaiah 59:20–21).
4.  Other Promises Fulfilled by the Millennium
  • Restoration of Israel (Jeremiah 33:16; Hosea 3:5)
  • Jesus exalted over His enemies (Psalm 110)
  • Peace among nations (Daniel 7:11–13)
  • Creation set free from the curse (Romans 8:18–23)
  • Harmony in nature (Isaiah 11:6–9)
  • Healing and wholeness for people (Ezekiel 34:16)
  • End this Present Age (2 Peter 3:10,12)

🙌 What Will We Do for 1,000 Years?
You may be asking, but what will we do for 1,000 years?  Scripture is very clear and tells ust that we will rule and reign with Christ (Revelation 20:4), serve Him in His Kingdom, and witness the restoration of all things. It will be a time of joy, justice, and purpose—where righteousness is not just preached, but practiced.

🔔 Final Thoughts
The Millennial Reign is not a theological footnote—it’s a cornerstone of God’s faithfulness. Every covenant will be honored and every promise fulfilled.   The best part is that we, His people, will be part of it.
We pray that this will stir your heart today to ensure that you are ready to rule and reign with CHRIST during HIS Millennial reign!

Judgment DayS

1/14/2025

We often speak of “Judgment Day”, but I believe a more accurate description of what will happen based on scripture, is a series of judgments based on who is actually being judged.   These different types of Judgment are not symbolic—they are literal, divine appointments that every soul will face.    It is important for us to understand this concept, because one day we will ALL have to stand before the LORD in judgment (Hebrews 9:27).   I have attempted to lay out these judgments in the sequential order which seems to be most in line with what I believe scripture tells us.

👑 The Bema Seat Judgment (The Judgment Seat of Christ)
This judgment is for believers only—those who were raptured, Old Testament believers and those saved during the Tribulation.   Most likely this will occur at some point during the 7 year tribulation period but before the Millennial rule of Christ.
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ…” (2 Corinthians 5:10)
  • Who is judged? Believers in Jesus Christ.
  • What is judged? Their works, motives, and faithfulness.
  • Outcome: Rewards or loss of rewards—not salvation.
This is a moment of accountability and reward. Crowns will be given for faithfulness, endurance, soul-winning, and longing for Christ’s return (2 Timothy 4:8, James 1:12).
First comes the judgment and rewards for those who were raptured.  Note this also includes the “dead in Christ”!

Immediately following this, will most likely come the Judgment of the Old Testament Believers at the Judgment seat of Christ.  These Old Testament believers are those who exercised faith in the promised Messiah and believed God’s promise of the coming Servant of the Lord (Is. 53).   For them their belief in God’s promise is counted to them as righteousness (Rom 4:23-24)

Finally, comes the judgment and handing of rewards to the Tribulation Believers.   Those who made a decision to serve JESUS after the rapture, but before the end of the tribulation.

👥 The Sheep and Goat Judgment
This judgment occurs at the beginning of Christ’s Millennial reign.
“He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats.” (Matthew 25:32)
  • Who is judged? Survivors of the Tribulation.
  • What is judged? Their treatment of Israel and their response to the gospel.
  • Outcome: Sheep enter the Millennial Kingdom; goats are cast out.
This judgment reveals the heart of those who lived through the Tribulation.  As we have discussed many times, salvation is by grace alone through faith in JESUS CHRIST alone.  The saved who survive the Tribulation will be identified by their works in befriending their Jewish brothers. During the Tribulation where universal anti-Semitism is prevalent, befriending Jews is an outward manifestation of one’s salvation and their faith in JESUS.   It’s not about nationality—it’s about faith and fruit.

🕊️ The Millennial Kingdom
We will talk more about the Millennial Kingdom in our next post, but after these judgments, Christ will reign on earth for 1,000 years (Revelation 20:4–6).   Scripture tells us that during that period:
  • Satan is bound.
  • Peace and righteousness prevail.
  • Believers reign with Christ.
  • Israel is restored and honored.
This is not heaven—it’s a literal kingdom on earth. But it points forward to the final eternal state.   At the end of the Millennium, Satan is released one last time.
“They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints… and fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them.” (Revelation 20:9)
This is the final rebellion. It ends swiftly. Satan is cast into the lake of fire forever.
Then comes the final judgment—the Great White Throne Judgment.

⚖️ The Great White Throne Judgment
This is the final judgment for all unbelievers throughout history.
“Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it… and the dead were judged according to their works.” (Revelation 20:11–12)
  • Who is judged? All who rejected Christ and died in unbelief.
  • What is judged? Their deeds, recorded in the books of heaven.
  • Outcome: Eternal separation from God in the lake of fire (Revelation 20:15).
This is not a trial—it’s a sentencing.  No one at this judgment is saved because their names are not found in the Book of Life.

🌅 Eternity Begins
Now that Judgment is completed, ETERNITY CAN BEGIN!  Revelation 21:1-4 tells us that: “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth… and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
  • No more death.
  • No more sorrow.
  • No more pain.
  • Only eternal joy in the presence of God.

🙌 Closing Encouragement
Judgment Days are coming—but for those in Christ, they are not something to feared as they will be a time of handing out our eternal rewards.    If you have never put your faith in JESUS, I encourage you to BE READY take a moment today and put your trust in HIM!   If you have already surrendered your life to CHRIST:
  • Be faithful. Live for eternity, not for today.
  • Be bold. Share the gospel while there is still time.
Jesus is coming.  Judgment is coming.   Eternity is coming.   Let’s live like it!

As we concluded our last study we can see that the 21 judgments are complete. The wrath of God has been poured out and now, the Lamb of God returns—not as the suffering servant, but as the conquering King!

Revelation 17 and 18 declare the victory of Jesus Christ over the kingdoms of this world. The Tribulation ends, and the reign of Christ begins. This is the moment all creation has groaned for—the Second Coming of Jesus.
“These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and                  King of kings.”
                                                                                                      -- Revelation 17:14

✝️ Prophecy Fulfilled — Past and Future
To understand the certainty of Christ’s return, we must first look back in history. Jesus’ first coming was foretold in over 300 Old Testament prophecies—every one fulfilled with precision. His birth, lineage, ministry, death, and resurrection were all written centuries before they occurred.

Now consider this: there are over 500 prophecies about His Second Coming. If He fulfilled every prophecy of His first coming, we can be absolutely confident that He will fulfill every prophecy of His return.  Let's take a quick look at just a few of the prophecies fulfilled in Jesus' First Coming.

📜 Prophecies Fulfilled in Jesus’ First Coming
In each case below, the first verse gives the prophecy while the second verse details the fulfillment of that prophecy!   Be prepared to be excited!
Lineage
  • From Abraham: Genesis 12:3 → Matthew 1:1
  • From Judah: Genesis 49:10 → Luke 3:23–37
  • From David: Psalm 89:29, Isaiah 11:1 → Matthew 1:1, Luke 3:23–31
Birth
  • Born of a Virgin: Isaiah 7:14 → Matthew 1:18–20
  • Born in Bethlehem: Micah 5:2 → Luke 2:4–7
  • Called Immanuel: Isaiah 7:14 → Matthew 1:21–23
  • Called out of Egypt: Hosea 11:1 → Matthew 2:13–15
Ministry
  • Healed many: Isaiah 53:4 → Mark 10:51–52
  • Taught in parables: Psalm 78:2 → Matthew 13:34–35
  • Calmed the sea: Psalm 107:28–29 → Matthew 8:24–27
Death
  • Betrayed for 30 pieces of silver: Zechariah 11:12 → Matthew 26:14–15
  • Hands and feet pierced: Psalm 22:16 → Matthew 27:38
  • Buried in a rich man’s tomb: Isaiah 53:9 → Matthew 27:57–58
  • No bones broken: Psalm 34:20 → John 19:32–33

🔢 The Odds Are Astronomical
  • George Heron calculated the odds of one man fulfilling just 40 prophecies as 1 in 10¹⁵⁷
  • Dr. Peter S. Ruckman estimated the odds of fulfilling 60 prophecies as 1 in 10⁸⁹⁵
These numbers are beyond comprehension. Yet Jesus fulfilled them all with his first coming.  This should give us confidence that He will fulfill every prophecy of His Second Coming with the same level of specificity..

🔥 He Is Coming Again…Soon
Jesus Himself promised us that HE would return for us soon.   In John 14:3 Jesus said:  “I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.”  This is not wishful thinking—it’s prophetic certainty. The same God who kept every promise before will keep every promise again.

🙏 Final Thoughts
  • Do not be deceived. The world will try to distract and distort, but the truth is clear.
  • Be prepared. Share the gospel while we still have time.
  • Be confident. Jesus fulfilled every prophecy of His first coming—He will fulfill every prophecy of His return.
  • Be expectant. He is coming again…very soon.

The 21 Judgments of the Tribulation: God's Wrath / Christ's Victory

11/20/2024

As we continue our Bible study on End Times prophecy, we now arrive at one of the most sobering and awe-inspiring sections of Revelation: the 21 judgments poured out during the seven-year Tribulation. These judgments are not random acts of destruction—they are purposeful, divine responses to sin, rebellion, and the rejection of Christ.

📜 The Purpose of the Tribulation
Before diving into the judgments, let’s remember why the Tribulation occurs:
  • To prepare Israel for her Messiah
  • To bring an end to the time of the Gentiles
  • To punish mankind for sin
The Tribulation begins with the signing of a peace treaty between Israel and the Antichrist (Daniel 9:27) and ends with the Second Coming of Christ and His victory at Armageddon (Revelation 11–21).

⚖️ The Three Waves of Judgments
The judgments unfold in three escalating waves: Seals, Trumpets, and Bowls—each containing seven judgments.  Throughout these judgments it is estimated that Billions of people will be killed.   In fact, the bible tells us in Zechariah 13:8 that only 1/3 of the Jewish population who enters the tribulation will be alive at the end of the tribulation.   Let’s take a look at the 21 judgments.
1. Seal Judgments (Revelation 6, 8:1)
Opened by Jesus Himself (Revelation 5), these judgments begin the unraveling of peace on earth.
  • First Seal:  White Horse and Rider (Rev. 6:1-2) – The Antichrist
  • Second Seal: Red Horse (Rev. 6:3-4) - WAR
  • Third Seal: Black Horse (Rev. 6:5-6) - Famine
  • Fourth Seal: Pale Horse (Rev. 6: 7-8) – Plague/Pestilence
  • Fifth Seal: Martyred Remnant (Rev. 6:9-11)
  • Sixth Seal: The Wrath of the Lamb Earthquake (Rev. 6:12-17)
  • Seventh Seal: Silence and intro to Trumpets (Rev. 8:1-6) -

2. Trumpet Judgments (Revelation 8:7–9:21, 11:15–19)
These judgments intensify in both scope and supernatural origin.
  • First Trumpet: Hail, Fire and Blood (Rev. 8:7) – 1/3 of all trees and grass destroyed
  • Second Trumpet: Mountain burning with fire (Rev. 8:8-9) – Meteor/Asteroid
  • Third Trumpet: Wormwood (Rev. 8:10-11)
  • Fourth Trumpet: DARKNESS (Rev. 8:12-13)
  • Fifth Trumpet:  First Woe – Apollyon (Rev. 9:1-11)
  • Sixth Trumpet: Second Woe – Horsemen Army (Rev. 9:13-19)
  • Seventh Trumpet: Third Woe – LOUD Voices/Christ’s Coronation (Rev. 11:15-19)

3. Bowl Judgments (Revelation 16)
These final judgments complete God’s wrath and prepare the earth for Christ’s return.
  • First Bowl: Foul and Loathsome sores (Rev. 16:1-2)
  • Second Bowl: Sea turns to blood (Rev. 16:3) – Kills all the remaining sea life.
  • Third Bowl: Rivers turn to blood (Rev. 16:4-7)
  • Fourth Bowl: The Sun Scorches Men (Rev. 16:8-9)
  • Fifth Bowl: DARKNESS (Rev. 16:10-11)
  • Sixth Bowl: The Euphrates Dries up (Rev. 16:12)
  • Seventh Bowl: Earthquake  (Rev. 16:17-21)

👑 The Return of Christ — Victory for the Lamb
With the judgments complete, Revelation 17–18 declares the victory of Jesus Christ:
“These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings.”
                                                                                                                        -- Revelation 17:14
The Tribulation ends. Christ reigns. Evil is defeated. The Lamb is victorious!

🙏 Final Thoughts
For believers, this is not a message of fear—it’s a call to action and worship.  We won’t be here for these judgments, but we must live with urgency and compassion.   We must follow the acronym POW which stands for:
  • PRAY — For the unsaved to come to Christ before it’s too late.
  • OBEY — God’s Word while we still have time.
  • WORSHIP — The Lamb who was slain and who will reign forever!

                                            “…Come Quickly…Lord Jesus.”

The Coming Wars

11/13/2024

As we continue our journey through End Times prophecy, we now turn to three pivotal chapters in Scripture: Psalm 83, Isaiah 17, and Ezekiel 38–39.  These chapters outline a sequence of wars involving Israel and her surrounding nations. These passages offer both historical echoes and future warnings, and they may very well be unfolding right before our eyes.   We will also take a look at a few of the wars which will take place during the Tribulation as detailed in the book of Revelation.

🔥 Psalm 83 — A Confederacy Against Israel
Psalm 83 is a cry for God not to remain silent as a coalition of nations conspires against Israel.  Psalm 83:4 tells us that “They have said, ‘Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.’”

Verses 6–8 then go on to list ten nations surrounding Israel—Edom, Moab, Ammon, Amalek, Philistia, Tyre, Assyria, and others—who unite in hostility.   Many Jewish scholars, including Amir Tsarfati, believe this prophecy was fulfilled during Israel’s rebirth in 1948, when neighboring nations launched attacks.  Jordan and Egypt, now bound by peace treaties, are expected to remain neutral in future conflicts like Ezekiel 38–39..  Meanwhile, others argue Psalm 83 is yet to be fulfilled, or that its fulfillment is unfolding now. I personally believe with the horrific actions made by Hamas against Israel on October 7, 2023, we may be witnessing the build-up to this war.  We are currently seeing Israel being attached by Hamas in Gaza, the Houthis, Hezbollah and Iran.   If the Psalm 83 war hasn't happened already, it may be right at our door.   Either way, when Israel emerges from the current attacks in victory, it may lead to territorial expansion and a brief period of peace and safety—setting the stage for what comes next.

💣 Isaiah 17 — The Fall of Damascus
Isaiah 17 delivers a chilling prophecy:  “Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, And it will be a ruinous heap.” (Isaiah 17:1)

Damascus, the capital of Syria and one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities, is prophesied to be utterly destroyed. This has never yet happened in history. The judgment appears to be divine punishment for Syria’s hostility toward Israel.

Some possible Timing Scenarios to consider:
  • Before the Tribulation — Could trigger the Ezekiel 38 war (“hook in the jaw”)
  • During the Tribulation — May unfold as part of the judgments or lead into Armageddon
  • Pre-Millennial — Could occur at the beginning of Christ’s reign
Bill Salus, in his book Israelstine, suggests this destruction could be the final straw that draws Russia into war against Israel.  Psalm 83:8 mentions Assyria joining the confederacy—possibly linked to Damascus’s fall. Could Iranian and Russian weapons be stockpiled there now?

⚔️ Ezekiel 38–39 — The Gog-Magog War
Ezekiel 38–39 describes a massive military assault on Israel, led by a coalition of nations. But God Himself intervenes:  “I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me, when I am hallowed in you, O Gog, before their eyes.” (Ezekiel 38:16)
Key Players and Their Modern Equivalents:
  • Gog: More of a title like Pharoah or Czar
  • Magog: According to Josephus this refers to the Scythians.   Modern day equivalent would be Russia and the former Soviet Republics ("the Stans")
  • Rosh: This is most likely modern day Russia.
  • Meschech:  Ezekiel 39:1-2 refers to this as a land far north of Israel.  Josephus associates this with Cappodocia in modern day Turkey.
  • Tubal:  Some Bible scholars associate this with the Tobolsk region in Russia near the Tobol river.
  • Persia:  This is modern day Iran which was actually called Persia until 1935.
  • Cush:  This is believed to be modern day Ethiopia and the Sudan.
  • Put:  This is most likely modern day Libya.
  • Beth Togarmah:  Literally this means the "house of Togarmah" and by most accounts represents modern day Turkey.
  • Gomer:  Most likely another reference to modern day Turkey although some of said that it can also refer to parts of Europe.

These nations will form a coalition to strike Israel “like a cloud” (Ez. 38:9), but God will use this as judgment against them. Israel will spend seven months burying the dead and seven years living off the spoils (Ez. 39:9, 12).    Additionally, several other countries are referred to as "sitting on the sidelines", but not participating.  The overall impact of this war is that Israel will be attacked by a coalition of countries led by Russia, Iran, Turkey, Libya and Sudan.   Ezekiel 38:4 tells us that it will be an "enticed" attack as GOD will but a "hook in their jaw" and use this attack as judgment against them.   The coalition will fail miserably because GOD will intervene on Israel's behalf!

🕊️ Tribulation Wars and Final Battles
The seven-year Tribulation will include multiple wars—some conventional, others possibly nuclear. Two major battles are highlighted at the end of Revelation:
  1. Armageddon (Revelation 19:17–19):  Led by the Antichrist, the enemies of God gather to defeat Christ—but fail miserably. Unlike Ezekiel 38, this battle ends with birds feasting on the fallen, not Israel collecting weapons.
  2. Final Rebellion (Revelation 20:7–9):  After the Millennial reign, Satan deceives the nations once more—including Gog and Magog. But this time, fire comes down from heaven and consumes them.

🙏 Final Thoughts
We are living in a time of prophetic convergence. Psalm 83 may be unfolding right in front of our eyes. Damascus may be nearing its prophesied ruin. The Gog-Magog war could be on the horizon. But through it all, God’s sovereignty remains unshaken. He will defend His people. He will fulfill His Word.
Stay watchful. Stay prayerful. And above all, stay grounded in Scripture!
